Carlos Carvalhal described himself as a happy coach following the Owls’ 1-0 victory against Huddersfield.
The Yorkshire derby seemed to be heading for a stalemate but that changed in the 83rd minute as Fernando Forestieri slid home the winning goal for Wednesday to keep up their play-off push.
The head coach said: “Today was a tough game.
“We had to focus and we played just as hard as we have to against the best teams in the Championship.
“We knew we would have to be patient and wait for our moment to win the game.
“I am a happy coach after this game.”
Wednesday move up a place to fifth place in the division but Carvalhal insists the players are just focusing on each game as it comes.
He added: “The players don’t play like they are under pressure or too excited.
“I understand why the fans get excited, but we just keep focus on the next games.
“If you go in the dressing room now the players are quiet, drinking water, having a shower…. everything is normal.”
