Continue with the process

3 August 2016

Carlos Carvalhal says although there is work to be done, the Owls head into the new campaign in better shape than last season.

Now 12 months into the process and with better quality in the squad, the head coach believes Wednesday are ready for the new term which gets underway on Sunday.

The Owls’ charge for promotion last season saw the club reach the play-off final, though Wednesday only managed one win from their first seven league fixtures.

Carlos reflects: “I remember last season and at this moment, we were not playing at this level we are now because we were just starting the process.

“A new coach, a new philosophy and we was with more problems than we have now.

“With the players that we have at this moment, we can start. This season, we start better than we started last season.”

Kick-off against Aston Villa is at 4.30pm on Sunday and supporters can get involved during the game on our social media channels and listen live on Wednesday PlayerHD.
