Fletcher boost for Owls

11 August 2016

Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed that Steven Fletcher has returned to training.

The striker left the action after just 27 minutes against Aston Villa last weekend following a clash of heads with visiting skipper Tommy Elphick.

But the news on that front is positive ahead of Saturday’s trip to Norwich, as Carlos said:

“Fletcher is training normal.

“He is training and did a test yesterday and felt good, so he started today in the normal session with his colleagues.”

In other news, Glenn Loovens is closing in on his return to action ahead of schedule.

The Owls captain has been sidelined with an ankle injury that required surgery over the summer.

But Loovens is making good progress and the head coach explained:

“Glenn is doing fantastic in his recovery, he is on the pitch now, he’s not working with the team but he is working on the pitch.

“That means he is not far to be back.”
