More to come from Owls ace Forestieri

1 August 2016

Fernando Forestieri hit 15 goals in 39 appearances for the Owls last season, has scored in each of his pre-season outings this summer and head coach Carlos Carvalhal says there is more to come.

The 26-year-old continued his impressive run in front of goal against Port Vale on Sunday, lashing home a crisp volley after the break.

This adds to his goals against Chesterfield, Benfica, Portimonense and CD Nacional and Carlos says Forestieri can be even better in 2016/17.

“He is one player from the team, he did a fantastic season last year and we expect that he can do better than last season,” he said.

“This is our wish but we believe all of the players can do better individually, but to do this the collective must work and play with a good dynamic.

“We are playing with a really good dynamic, we are feeling our players are enjoying the way that we play because they enjoy, they work to the team and are at the same time developing themselves.

“With Fernando, I think he can do better than last season, I think he can do this.”
