Owls boosted by Lees return

18 August 2016

Sheffield Wednesday head into the Yorkshire derby with Leeds on Saturday boosted by the return of Tom Lees.

The commanding defender missed out in the midweek trip to Burton with a foot injury but has trained today and will be available to face his former employers.

Carlos said: “The panorama before the last game was not so good but in this moment it is much better.

“Tom Lees is training normal and has completely recovered. He trained today and is 100%. He is a very, very important player to us.

“He’s one of the best central defenders in England not just in the Championship to me.”

There was also encouraging news for fellow central defender and captain Glenn Loovens, who continues to make strides towards his return.

“Glenn Loovens in a very, very short time will be involved also" Carlos added. "He has started training with the team.

“It means we are more strong now than a few days ago and I’m absolutely sure we will give a good answer on the pitch.”
