Strong start but a long way to go

15 August 2016

Having kicked off the campaign with four points from two tough fixtures, Keiren Westwood is pleased with the Owls’ start.

Add into the mix two clean sheets from those games with Aston Villa and Norwich and there are plenty of positives from the very early throes.

Wednesday head to Burton on Tuesday and assessing what has gone before, Westwood said:

“I think anyone would have taken four points against two of the relegated sides. I think we can be happy with that.

“But we haven’t achieved anything yet. It is early days. We are only two games in.

“If we had lost the two games, I wouldn’t have been pushing the panic button. I’m not going to start blowing our trumpet now.”

The Brewers have lost their first two games at Championship level.

Tuesday night’s clash will be the first time the two sides have met at first team level and Wednesday will take a sold out allocation to the Pirelli Stadium.

Ahead of the game, Westwood added: ““I don’t think we have surprised anyone.

“If you look at the division, you would say we would be one of the teams who are going to be there or thereabouts.”
