We stuck to our task

14 August 2016

Barry Bannan was full of praise for the manner in which the Owls earned a hard-fought point at Norwich on Saturday evening.

In front of the live TV cameras, the Scottish international said Wednesday stuck to their task against one of the strongest sides in the division.

The Owls have now collected four points from their opening two fixtures against recently relegated Aston Villa and Norwich, with two clean sheets along the way.

Assessing the 0-0 draw at Carrow Road, Bannan said: “We knew it was going to be tough coming down here, we said beforehand that Norwich are one of the best teams in the league.

“But we stuck to our task and got a good point in the end.

“I thought to a man, the boys who started and the subs who came on were excellent. We showed our team spirit.

“It’s always a tough league and you can’t predict who will beat who on any week.

“We’ve come to a top team who have come down from the Premier League and it shows we’ve got stronger this season.”
