Keiren Westwood is set to make his 100th Sheffield Wednesday appearance this weekend.

The ever-reliable and commanding shot-stopper joined the Owls in July 2014 and made his debut in Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Brighton at The Amex in August that year.

His debut performance was of the highest order and the story has been the same throughout his time at Hillsborough.

Westwood has racked up an impressive 37 clean sheets.

During 2014/15 and 2015/16, the Republic of Ireland international was a big part of the resilient Owls side that twice equalled the club record of clean sheets in a single league campaign – 17 in total.

His latest shutout was of course in midweek as the Owls defeated South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley 2-0 at Hillsborough.

He said: “I’ve done okay and I think the consistency has been there so I’m happy enough.

“I’ve played a lot of games in two and a half years so to be coming up to 100 games is great.

“The stats speak for themselves. I’ve kept a lot of clean sheets and it would be nice if I could keep a few more.”
