Carlos Carvalhal says he can feel the excitement of the players, staff and fans ahead of Tuesday night’s South Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough.
Barnsley head to S6 for a crucial Sky Bet Championship contest and the head coach told swfc.co.uk, his players are ready for the occasion.
“These kind of games make people more excited, we believe our players are excited and are looking forward to the game and the fans are in the same way.
“We need that absolutely.
“We have prepared very well for the game, we will be ready but, like since the beginning, we will need the fans.
“We must feel the presence of them and we hope they make a big noise to help us in this difficult match.”
The Reds go into the derby buoyed with back to back victories over Birmingham and Norwich, while the Owls will be aiming for a swift response following the unfortunate defeat to Reading.
“It is an important game tomorrow," Carlos continued. "It’s a derby and it’s something very positive. We like this kind of environment.
“We are here and we are ready. We finished the last game not happy but not destroyed. We finished the game positive and ready to the derby tomorrow.”
