Confident Owls aim high

30 December 2016

Adam Reach says the Owls are full of confidence and aiming to build on the fantastic run of late.

It’s finely balanced at the top of the Sky Bet Championship and the positive results over the festive period have seen Carlos Carvalhal’s side keep pace.

Wednesday now face two quickfire Championship tests, with Preston up first on New Year’s Eve before a home clash with Wolves two days later.

“With the Newcastle game, it was a massive win for everyone to show ourselves that we can go to places like that and win," Reach said.

“So all in all we are very pleased and confidence is high but we know we have got a couple of tough games coming up.

“We are fully focused on the Preston game now.”

The 23-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Owls since his switch from Middlesbrough and slotted into the side seamlessly.

This weekend, Reach is set to face his former loan club Preston, where he spent the majority of last season on loan from Boro and he added:

“I had a great time there, thoroughly enjoyed it and if it wasn’t for that move, I might not have this opportunity that I have at Hillsborough.

“When I came here we were playing well but in certain games it wasn’t quite clicking.

“I think we have got that now, everyone is fighting for their place, training is good and we take that into the games. It is all coming together.

“In the next couple of weeks, we want the gap between us, the top two and the other teams to become smaller, that’s our aim.

“We believe in the qualities we have and now we have to go out there and prove it.”
