Lees expects tough Royals battle

6 December 2016

Tom Lees was delighted to make a return to the top six over the weekend after a 2-1 victory over Preston.

To maintain that position, the Owls face a big test on Saturday with a trip to third-placed Reading.

In a unique round of Championship action, the top six – as things stand – are set to go head to head with Brighton hosting Leeds and Birmingham travelling to Newcastle.

While the Owls made it back to back wins last time out, the Royals suffered a heavy defeat at Craven Cottage, going down 5-0 to Fulham and Lees expects a strong reaction from them, explaining:

“It will be tough, it will probably the case that they’ll expect a massive reaction from themselves at home and put right what went wrong at the weekend.

“You know what it’s like when you get beaten like that, you just want to get back out there and put it right and that’s what we’ll have to deal with.”

He added: “But we’re in the top six and as long as you’re in and around there, then anything can happen and that’s where we want to be now.”
