Tom Lees has praised shot-stopper Keiren Westwood’s record for Wednesday following the Ireland international’s 100th appearance for the Owls in the 1-0 win against Rotherham on Saturday.
Wednesday have twice equalled the club’s clean sheet record over a league season since the arrival of Westwood and Lees in the summer of 2014 and the centre back believes the Owls’ custodian has been an important player.
He said: “He has been an excellent servant for us.
“He didn’t have much to do on Saturday but you look at other games and he got us out of jail a couple of times on Tuesday.
“When he is called upon, nine times out of ten he gets the job the done.
“He’s got a great record, I signed here at the same time as him so I’d like to think my record is quite similar!
“But it’s a team game, we all work hard for each other.”
