Preston manager Simon Grayson is wary of the threat of Owls’ key players ahead of his side’s visit to Hillsborough on Saturday.

The Lilywhites head into the fixture on a three-game unbeaten run, but the ex-Wednesday loanee expects a difficult test this weekend.

Grayson said:  "We know it's a tough test but we've had some tough games over the past couple of months and we have done very well away from home and that's what we have to try and replicate again this weekend.

“Obviously we are going to have to keep any key players from the opposition quiet.

“You look at Forestieri who is probably one of the key players for them, he was heavily involved in their goals last weekend and so we know he is going to be a key player.

"They've got some strength up front, whether it's Joao, Nuhiu or Steven Fletcher, it just shows you the options of what they have got and their strength in depth."

Also speaking ahead of the weekend was another ex-Wednesday loanee, Aiden McGeady.

He made 13 appearances for the Owls last season and wants to make an impact on his return to Hillsborough.

McGeady said: "I know what it's like playing at Hillsborough with the fans, they are obviously a big club with a big following and a big fan base.

"When I was there last season there was an onus on the team to be right up there in the play-offs, if not finishing second, because at one point when I was there last season we had a chance to do that.

“There is an added motivation, especially when you are going somewhere that you would want to do well.

"The most important thing is that we come away with a good result but personally, obviously, there is a bit more motivation there.”
