The Owls have scooped the prestigious League Managers Association Performance of the Week Award following the Boxing Day win over Championship promotion favourites Newcastle.
The LMA’s five-man panel, comprising chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, highlighted the 1-0 victory at St James’ Park as the pick of the bunch over the festive period.
Carlos Carvalhal will receive a celebratory bottle of champagne, courtesy of Tanners Wines, and the LG Performance of the Week trophy in a presentation at Middlewood Road on Friday.
