Sheffield Wednesday’s fanbase extends all over the world and on Saturday, the club welcomed four special guests from Portugal!
Having kept a keen eye on the club since the appointment of their fellow countryman and Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal, the quartet were delighted to be in attendance for Saturday’s victory over Preston.
Gonzalo and Francisco (from right to left in the picture with Carlos above) now live in London and regularly follow the Owls up and down the country, while friends Jose and Diego sampled their first taste of Hillsborough, having flown over from Portugal.
Gonzalo told swfc.co.uk: “We have followed the club very closely since Carlos came here and have been blown away by everything.
“From the first game of last season, the Arsenal game in the cup, the Brighton play-off game with the lights, we have never seen anything like it.
“Myself and Francisco now get to as many games as we can and we have brought extra support with us today all the way from Portugal! To meet Carlos himself was brilliant and we look forward to the rest of the season.”
The quartet also presented Fernando Forestieri with his swfc.co.uk November Player of the Month award before the game.
