Stronger with more options

The Owls have enjoyed a fine run of results, battling their way to four wins from the last five but the head coach believes things can get better.

In comparison with the same stage last season, Wednesday have gathered four more points and occupy a place in the top six.

The Owls have not been without their limitations during this run of good form, with injuries and suspensions in the way and Carlos Carvalhal said:

“In the last five games, we have won four and we are in the competition to win points and win games.

“We want to do better and better and I think we will do that in the future.

“We are playing and we are winning while we are missing players.

“In the future we will be with more options, Jack Hunt will recover, Kieran Lee will recover, Barry Bannan will recover, Fernando will be back, Gary Hooper will recover also.”

Fernando Forestieri has now served his three-match suspension and will be available for selection in a week’s time for the Boxing Day trip to Newcastle.

Carlos added: “We will be more strong and better in the future, we know that.”
