Tom Lees believes Wednesday have added exactly what they needed to make for a successful season.
In pure and simple terms, that is the ability to hit the back of the net on a regular basis.
The likes of Fernando Forestieri and Gary Hooper have been in electric form when it has come to converting chances.
Lees says that is the difference and a huge factor as to why Wednesday are challenging for promotion to the Premier League.
He said: “You look at last season, we were quite solid but didn’t score enough goals.
“We have added that this season.
“Hooper’s class has shown throughout his career, it was just the case that he needed that chance to get fit and match sharp and show what he can do.
“He’s in great form at the moment and has been untouchable really.”
Lees – who was the stand-in skipper on Saturday in the absence of the injured Glenn Loovens – says the squad’s hard work has come to fruition with a well-earned for the time being in the top six.
He continued: “There has been a lot of hard work to get in that position, we seemed to be winning a lot of games but not really moving up the table.
“I think we have got our rewards now and we need to carry on this run of form.
“We’ve got some big games coming up and we go into them confident in our ability but we have got to approach them right.”
