Bannan focused as Owls prepare for Birmingham clash

4 February 2016

Former Aston Villa man Barry Bannan is expecting a typical hostile reception on Saturday as the Owls travel to Birmingham.

Having risen up through the youth system at Villa Park, Bannan is prepared for what lies ahead as Wednesday visit St Andrews on Saturday.

But the only focus as far as the midfielder is concerned, is returning with three points from this crucial contest.

With both sides locked on 47 points and only goal difference separating the two, a plus two in the Owls’ favour, Saturday represents a big opportunity for both the Owls and the Blues.

Bannan said: “It’s not going to be nice but I’ll just get on with my game and forget about everything else.

“If we turn up on the day and play the way we can play with the squad we have got, then we are confident of getting the win.

“But it’s going to be another tough game like any other game in this league.

“We have to concentrate on what we are doing, keep the focus and hopefully that will see us get the three points.”
