Carlos calls for 100% focus

2 February 2016

Carlos Carvalhal insists everyone can play their part this evening as the Owls host promotion rivals Burnley.

The Clarets head into tonight’s fixture in fine form, four points adrift of second place but with aspirations of a top two finish.

Wednesday sit five points behind this evening’s visitors so with plenty on the line, the Owls head coach has called for everyone connected with Wednesday to be at 100%.

“To win against Burnley we must have 100% concentration, full energy, our fans must support from the team from the first second and push at the end,” he said.

“If we do that, then we can beat them. It will be the toughest game we play this season.

“They are very organised, tough, competitive, compact and dangerous.

“Some aspects we are better and some they are better than us.”

A point tonight would see the Owls regain their place in the top six but Carlos is counting on the extra energy from the supporters to push the players over the line for three points.

He added: “The fans can help us because we need extra energy from outside.

“It will be very tough to beat them, we must be absolutely sure that everyone is at 100%, including the coaches, players and fans to give a lot of energy to the team.”
