In form and head to head

18 February 2016

Saturday will see two in-form sides go head to head at Deepdale.

Much has been said about the Owls’ fine recent run in the Championship. But Preston can also boast a similar purple patch having won five of their last eight games.

The Owls head coach is expecting nothing less than a stern test this weekend and he said:

“We are absolutely sure it will be a very tough game. They are a team that in the last eight games, have won five.

“They are in a very good moment and as the competition has progressed, they are a team that has grown.

“They are at home and have expectations so it will be a tough game to us but will be a tough game to them also because we are in a good way.

“When we play against a team that has high motivation, it is more difficult absolutely sure.”

Wednesday head to Preston defending their unbeaten league run in 2016.

Having won seven from the last ten games, the Owls have risen up to fifth in the Championship and Carlos insists everyone must be at their usual high standards on Saturday to maintain the upward curve.

“We have a lot of fans with us and they understand it will be a very, very tough game,” he continued. “We must be 100% in the game to bring home three points.

“When I say we, I’m talking about the coaches, the players, the fans and if we do that we will have a bigger chance of winning the game for sure.”
