McGeady welcomes competition

11 February 2016

As highlighted last weekend at Birmingham, the entire squad will have a huge part to play for the run-in this season.

With strength in depth and bags of quality throughout the squad comes strong competition for regular spots in the starting XI.

Aiden McGeady is ready to meet that competition head on as he bids to earn a regular place on the wings and he said:

“Competition doesn’t bother me at all. It is part and parcel of football.

“Ross plays on the right but I think the manager fancies me more for the left but he knows I can play on either side.

“Competition is healthy and you will always get that at big clubs.”

The wideman made his full debut last weekend at St Andrew’s and is happy with the start he has made to his loan spell at the club, which is due to last until the end of the season.

“It’s good knowing some familiar faces,” he added. “The team are playing well and we are showing what we are capable of.”
