The long term picture is not one painted in the minds of the players as the run-in begins to pick up the pace.
From the very beginning Carlos Carvalhal has insisted the next game is always the main focus.
Wednesday have a big week ahead with QPR on Tuesday at Hillsborough and a live televised clash with Hull on Friday.
Established as promotion challengers, Carvalhal says there is no pressure in the camp with regard to league position and all focus is on Tuesday’s Championship tussle with the R’s.
“It is not important to talk about pressure and these kind of things because we are focused only on the next game,” he said.
“We must run a lot and fight a lot, show good organisation, try to play good football, try to score goals and don’t take goals.
“They are tough and have players that have played in the Premier but I think we will be ready.
“Even though we lose the last game we are in good shape with a good environment.
“I don’t think my players were down, they understand why we lose the game and now they are ready to play another one.”
On the game, Carvalhal added: “It is there when we must show we are better than our opposites.
“After the game, lets see what happened but we must be strong to win this game.”
