Sheffield Wednesday are saddened to learn of the passing of former player Jackie Marriott.
He passed away peacefully aged 87.
Jackie represented the Owls between 1947 and 1955, making 159 appearances and scoring 19 goals.
The talented right winger was a regular for Wednesday through the club’s promotion campaign into the top tier in 1950.
He started and finished his career with hometown club Scunthorpe but always spoke affectionately of his time with the Owls.
Our thoughts are with Jackie’s family and friends at this sad time.
