Only one record counts

12 February 2016

The Owls are defending an impressive 14-game unbeaten run at Hillsborough this weekend.

That run stretches all the way back to August.

Since then, Wednesday have proved a force at Hillsborough in the Sky Bet Championship.

But not one to get hung up on records, Carlos Carvalhal says the only thing that matters is being the best team on the day.

“I don’t care about records, Player of the Month, Player of the Week, I don’t care about this," he said.

“I don’t lose my focus with artificial things like this.

“The fundamental thing to me and to us is Brentford at the weekend.

“What we must understand is that the most important game of the season is the next one.

“It’s not about records and having the best record at home or away, it’s about being the best on the pitch on the day to win the game.”
