Sheffield Wednesday can announce that the 2016/17 Season Ticket window will be extended for one week only.
The window was scheduled to close at 5.00pm on Monday but will now remain open until 8 February.
This is a result of the popularity of the Advance Saver Season Ticket that has led to extensive queueing times in the Ticket Office – both in person and by telephone – and the recent Supporters Steering Group meeting at Hillsborough.
The Owls are committed to acting on fan feedback where possible and this, coupled with the unprecedented demand for Season Tickets, has triggered the revised deadline.
While supporters applauded the innovation of the Advance Saver – where fans can commit to one, two or three-year deals with Wednesday – the wider view was to extend the window period to allow as many Wednesdayites as possible to take advantage of the outstanding savings on offer.
Steering Group discussions focused on the huge demand for Season Tickets that meant a significant number of supporters being unable to make their purchase by the original deadline, plus the ability for the window to incorporate one more regular pay day.
