Owls stars Forestieri and Helan support awareness day!

9 February 2016

Sheffield Wednesday and the club’s Community Programme have thrown their weight behind a national awareness day that promotes safe internet use for children and young people.

‘Safer Internet Day 2016’ is designed to raise awareness around keeping safe online and being aware of suspicious or inappropriate content.

Owls stars Fernando Forestieri and Jeremy Helan have backed the national campaign and joined the awareness event at Middlewood Road. The Wednesday duo also signed shirts and posed for photos with junior Owls.

The day was incorporated into the Community Programme’s half term Soccer Camp and the youngsters learned about keeping safe online, what to do if they’re not sure about something they see online and how to use the internet in a positive way.

Safety issues around online reputation, knowing how to block and delete unwanted material, internet laws and only using trustworthy content were addressed.
