Head coach Carlos Carvalhal says his side have a better understanding of the process the club is undertaking and thus expects the Owls to get better and better.
The head coach believes Wednesday came into their own following the draw at Bolton back in September after a number of key additions to the squad.
Since then, the Owls have risen from 18th in the Sky Bet Championship to firm promotion contenders.
“I said it before, I hope we can do a second half better than the first,” Carvalhal said.
“For the first games we were not full, not completed.
“Really we started the season after this, after the Bolton game. This is when we really started to do the season.
“After this we are doing really very well, we are improving, we are more strong now than in the first part of the season.
“We showed that against Burnley, even though we played very, very good football we did some mistakes.
“But we didn’t let it disturb our mind when Burnley started winning and they are really very good when they are winning.
“Our team has more maturity in this moment and understand better our process and we believe we can do better in the future.”
