Carlos Carvalhal said his side win and lose as a team after the Owls’ 1-0 defeat against Preston at Deepdale.
Joe Garner scored the winning goal for the Lilywhites after Fernando Forestieri was sent off for two bookable offences.
The head coach said: “Overall the game was very even, very balanced and both teams had chances to win.
“After the red card, we were unbalanced for a few moments and this is when we conceded the goal.
“I thought the second yellow card was correct but I do not agree with the first one as to me when I saw it, I did not think it was a foul.
“But I am disappointed by the result, not by the way our team played, they showed a lot of fight until the end of the match to try and get the points for us.
“Whatever the result we are a team, if we win we are a team, and today we lose as a team.”
Nearly 6,000 Wednesdayites travelled to Preston and Carvalhal said: “I would like to thank the fans who travelled with us today.
“They supported us all the way through the game and were fantastic.”
