Wildsmith a hit!

25 February 2016

Young Wednesday star Joe Wildsmith met a group of youngsters at a half term disability sports camp and shared his football expertise before taking time to have photos and questions.

The camp, hosted by the club’s Community Programme, saw Joe take part in a question and answer session where the participants quizzed him about and what it’s like to play for the club he’s always supported.

The SWFCCP arranged the visit following a new partnership with Hillsborough College where a selection of foundation degree students have hosted a series of disability coaching sessions as part of their studies.

Wildsmith said: “The camp was great and everyone was so happy to be there. The group is a good way for the young players to get a taste for different sports and they all seemed to enjoy what they were doing.”

Sam Firth, SWFCCP disability officer, said: “The kids really enjoy it when a player comes to visit them and Joe was more than accommodating for them. He answered all their questions, had photos taken and signed autographs. He has really inspired the kids and everyone would like to thank him for his time.”
