Carlos pleased with cup progress

9 January 2016

Carlos Carvalhal was pleased with the Owls’ progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

His side overcame Fulham 2-1 at Hillsborough and the head coach has also expressed his preference for a big fish at the next juncture.

He said: “Yes, I am pleased because the object was to get through to the next round and this is what  we achieved.

“We had to take risks because we did not want another game and it was the same for the opponent.

“So we scored the winning goal and it was 2-1 to us but it could easily have been 2-1 to Fulham.

“They had chances, we had chances, and it could have gone either way.

“We now look to round four and if you ask me who I would like I would say a big Premier club at Hillsborough, like we had in the Capital One Cup against Arsenal.

“This would be the best tie for the fans, who deserve to see the excitement of Sheffield Wednesday.”

The draw for the next round takes place on Monday at 7.00pm, live on BBC2.
