Home comforts for Wallace

5 January 2016

Following a winning start to 2016, Wednesday now have three consecutive fixtures at Hillsborough to negotiate.

The first is another test against Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday before the Owls battle for three points against Bolton and Leeds.

With four of the next five games at Hillsborough in January, last Saturday’s match-winner Ross Walllace is full of confidence.

Wednesday have suffered just one defeat on home soil all season and the Scot says that good run must continue.

“The fans have been right behind us all season and in return we have given them something to sing about, cheer about and our home form has been brilliant,” he said.

“Away from home I feel we’ve been unlucky at times, we’ve created chances and not really come away with the points we’ve deserved.

“Hopefully our away form will continue to pick up further and we’ll keep doing what we’re doing at home. Then we’ll see what can happen.”

A joyous 3,500 Owls fans travelled to Craven Cottage to witness Wednesday’s first three-point haul of the New Year.

Wallace paid special tribute to them all and said: “All season the fans have been magnificent, the stand was packed right until the end at Fulham as they applauded us off the pitch and waited for Atdhe to do his usual celebration!

“It was fantastic and they have been outstanding all season and long may that continue and we give them something to shout about.”
