Join the biggest bike ride in football

18 January 2016

Sheffield Wednesday are on the lookout for Owls fans to represent the club and Prostate Cancer UK’s Men United in Europe on 3-5 June 2016 for a 145 mile cycle ride in conjunction with The Football League.

Owls fans Steve Prowse and Marc Lister have already signed up to the ride and will represent Wednesday at the event. To join the pair sign up here: prostatecanceruk.org/Amsterdam

In an exciting new development, the charity ride, formerly known as the London to Amsterdam challenge, will consist of two start locations to become the all-inclusive football to Amsterdam experience.

In 2016, there are two start locations:

•    Set off from Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Stadium – home of the Tykes since 1888.
•    Or kick off from the iconic Olympic Park in East London.

Last year’s event was a sell out with more than 250 riders – including Owls fans Chris Heeley and Richard Stuart. They joined former international trio Terry Butcher, Matt Holland and Luther Blissett, together with Preston North End boss Simon Grayson.

In 2015, the collective Men United squad raised an impressive £350,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, an amount which will go a long way in helping men who are affected by the disease and crucially pave the way for new research and treatments.

The registration fee is £149 and each rider will pledge to raise a minimum of £1,000 in sponsorship to help fight back against a disease that affects one in eight men in the UK.
