The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme is set to host a new walking football session aimed at getting those back to playing football who had to stop playing due to injury.
Former Owls star Lawrie Madden and John Pearson have backed the project and are encouraging fans to get involved.
The new session is held at Ponds Forge on Thursdays, 10.30-11.30am.
Walking football is non-contact and anyone that sprints, runs or jogs whilst the ball is in play is penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.
Working in partnership with Sheffield International Venues and the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA, new players will have the opportunity to play walking football for the club’s Community Programme.
