Owls stand proud

12 January 2016

Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal says the Owls’ home form is to be proud of as the unbeaten run at Hillsborough stretched to 11 games in all competitions last weekend.

That stronghold will be tested again this evening as Championship strugglers Bolton arrive in S6.

Proud of the current run on home soil, the head coach said:

“If you remember, my first wish for the season was to play attractive football, for the fans to come to Hillsborough and to enjoy the games.

“For more fans to come to the stadium, while playing good football and winning of course.

“I think we have achieved this at this moment because we are doing really very well in the season.

“We are putting a big problem to our opponents at Hillsborough and it is something we are very proud of and we want to continue to do this.”

For that run to continue, Wednesday will have to break a recent trend that has seen Bolton win on their last four visits to Hillsborough.

Carlos continued: “We want Hillsborough to be a place that is not comfortable for our opponents to play.

“Everybody must be at their maximum for this to happen.”
