Owls midfielder Jose Semedo says he expects another close battle with Fulham in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
Wednesday have already done the double over the Cottagers in the Championship this season, 3-2 at Hillsborough and 1-0 at Craven Cottage last weekend.
Now the Portuguese is hoping to complete a rare third victory of the season over the same opposition in order to progress to the next round.
He said: “I have rarely played one team three times in a season and beaten them in all the games but this is what we want to achieve on Saturday.
“We know it will be a difficult cup game with another Championship team, we will do our best and use the advantage of being on our patch.”
Semedo has fond memories of playing in cup competitions throughout his career and particularly with Wednesday.
He added: “Obviously to play against the big teams, the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City, it is always a good experience and the biggest learning curve when you challenge yourself against the very best.
“But the most important thing now is this cup game.
“We are taking every game as it comes, we don’t think differently to that.
“The manager every single day says the most important game is the one that is coming next.
“He is a top, top manager and he will be in the history of this club, that is for sure.”
