Owls golf day success

25 July 2016

Last Wednesday, the club’s Community Programme hosted the club’s annual corporate golf day, and saw commercial sponsors take part to help raise funds for charity.

This year’s event, held at Hillsborough golf course, saw teams of four compete in an 18-hole stableford competition.

Former Owls players Chris Waddle, David Hirst, Leigh Bromby, Jon Newsome, Peter Eustace and Nicky Weaver represented Sheffield Wednesday on the day.

Our congratulations go to the team from Napoleons who were the event winners!

The day included competitions ‘Nearest the Pin’, a two-course meal, a raffle and prize presentations.

A ‘Beat Amy’ challenge also took place to raise money for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Club partners Heineken sponsored the ‘Half Way House’ which saw participants enjoy a beer or cold drink midway through the route.

BMW provided a challenge on the sixth hole where if participants scored a hole-in-one won a luxury car for the weekend!

Everyone at SWFC would like to say thank you to all who took part and to the hole sponsors for making the day the success it was.
