Sheffield Wednesday have signed former Everton defender Jordan Thorniley.
The towering young talent joins the Owls after graduating through the Goodison academy ranks to pen a first-year professional deal on Merseyside.
That maiden senior contract expired over the summer and the 19-year-old centre back has moved over the Pennines to sign for one year at Hillsborough.
He told swfc.co.uk: “The name of Sheffield Wednesday is known throughout the football world and I am really looking forward to getting started.
“I immediately sensed a really homely environment here, which is a big plus.
“I feel I learned my trade with Everton and now I am ready to go to the next level.
“I am very ambitious and hopefully I can achieve my goals with Wednesday.”
