The Owls have recruited erstwhile Spurs schemer Charlie Hayford on a one-year contract.
Hayford, 19, joins Wednesday having been with Premier League Tottenham since the age of four.
The talented midfielder has high hopes after trading White Hart Lane for Hillsborough and told swfc.co.uk:
“This is a massive football club and one that would appeal to any young footballer looking to make his mark in the game.
“I have no qualms about leaving the south for the north as this is a club and place that really appeals.
“I have really enjoyed my years with Spurs and learned from some top quality players. I was invited to train with the senior players under Andres Villas-Boas when I was 15 and playing at the tempo of the first team was a fantastic experience.
“The philosophy of Sheffield Wednesday is to play from the back, to play football, and that suits the way that I like to play.”
