Tonight’s Charity Partner is the club’s charity arm – The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.
The charitable programme runs alongside the club and is one of the largest community programmes in the country, currently operating to serve hundreds of people in the South Yorkshire area.
The Community Programme is established to support the development of cohesive communities around South Yorkshire and to seek to increase engagement, training provision and support amongst its residents which works across four key themes; participation, social inclusion, health and well-being and education.
The programme is based at the club’s training ground but operates throughout hundreds of schools, organisations and business’ around South Yorkshire where they work to encourage confidence, active lifestyle and participation of sport regardless of gender, ethnicity and disability.
The programme also works alongside The Football League Trust and the Professional Football Association to deliver sessions and programmes to the community.
