Support Steve for second trek

30 June 2016

Lifelong Wednesdayite Steve Milne will once more be trekking across Europe for the most worthwhile of charities, the Army Benevolent Fund.

The charity provides financial help and support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families from each and every conflict, right up to current operations.

Steve, an ex-serving soldier himself, laid a wreath on behalf of the Owls at Menin Gate in Belgium last year having completed the 100km Frontline Walk and will take up his next challenge in October.

Walking in memory of the Sheffield and Barnsley Palls Batallion who went to conflict in the Battle of the Somme in July 1916, Steve will start in France, continuing into Belgium along the route of the First World War battlefields.

The Owls fanatic is now seeking sponsorship and has also pledged to place a small cross of remembrance at Sheffield Park along the way on behalf of anyone who wishes he do so. Crosses can be obtained from the Royal British Legion.

Steve has set up a Just Giving page for all sponsorship opportunities – CLICK HERE for full details.
