The stakes are high for Saturday’s South Yorkshire derby against Rotherham.
Take aside the derby element of Saturday’s contest, three points are vital to Wednesday as the club aim to strengthen their grip on a play-off berth.
A point against high-flying Hull last week was a solid return from a tough fixture and as the Owls look to build on that this weekend, Carlos Carvalhal is happy with the shape of his squad.
With Michael Turner making his return at The KC Stadium last Friday, Tom Lees getting back to his best and Glenn Loovens making good progress, there are options for the Owls at the back.
The head coach said: “I’m happy and not just with Michael, Michael did very well and that is not a surprise.
“Tom is doing better and better since he has recovered from injury, Liam Palmer did fantastic again and he is very consistent when he plays.
“Joe Bennett did very well in a tough game to him because all the time he had many situations one on one in the last game and he solved them.
“He did really very well so we are very happy with all the players.
“McGeady is doing better and better and played more than 60 minutes at Hull, he is player who must have a role to do, to provide defensive cover to the side and try to be all the time aggressive.
“He did the teamwork side of the game fantastic and it is very good to have a player like that.
“It means we are strong and are a strong team.”
