Carlos: We win with quality

12 March 2016

Carlos Carvalhal praised his team's quality following the Owls’ 3-0 win away against Nottingham Forest.

Aiden McGeady opened his account for Wednesday in the first half and goals from Gary Hooper and Marco Matias after the break wrapped up victory for the Owls.

Barry Bannan was sent off in the second half, but Forest couldn’t capitalise against the ten men.

Carvalhal said: “Today we win with quality.

“Everyone before the game was saying how important this match was for us to win.

“But we just did what we do and played football that is good to watch for our massive fans.

“We want to play this way because some tickets are not cheap, and we want them to enjoy our football.

“As always I want to thank them for their support today.”

The head coach was also pleased with the desire his side showed and felt the first goal epitomised the Owls’ work ethic.

He added: “The focus is always on the team.

“This goal showed what we are doing as a team in training. This was a reflection of the team, the training and the club.

“We showed a lot of fight to get the ball and quality to play when we had it.

“We win this game and now we concentrate on the next game against Charlton on Saturday.”
