Everybody must be ready

21 March 2016

With everything still to be decided, April will be a big month in the Sky Bet Championship.

It’s tight at the top but victory over Charlton at the weekend has given the Owls a three-point cushion in sixth position.

International football takes centre stage over the next week, meaning no fixture for Wednesday until Saturday 2 April in the clash away at Huddersfield.

For head coach Carlos Carvalhal, the break has come at a good time for the club and he said:

“Now we have two weeks and it is good timing to recover the players that are playing more.

“And another part, we can give more time and more tempo to the players that have not been playing.

“We need all the players because next month we have seven games and everybody must be ready.”

Wednesday head into the break in good spirits after back to back wins over Nottingham Forest and the Addicks, both by a 3-0 scoreline.

“This break is a good time for us to put everything ok and try to improve our team,” Carlos added.

Joe Wildsmith, Daniel Pudil, Barry Bannan, Aiden McGeady and Lucas Joao have been called up for their respective nations during this international period.
