Loovens praise for Owls

14 March 2016

After a strong week for Wednesday, skipper Glenn Loovens has praised his team mates.

Wednesday posted back to back clean sheets away from home against Brighton and Nottingham Forest.

Having earned a hard-fought point at The Amex, the Owls produced one of their best displays of the term to inflict a 3-0 defeat on Forest.

On picking up the second clean sheet in a week, Loovens said:

“For me you don’t only do clean sheets with defenders, if your strikers are helping you and your midfielders are helping you, it makes it so much easier.

“That’s the case here, they work really hard for us, make life difficult for the opposition and everyone can see that.

“That hard work is a big part of those recent clean sheets.”

Relegation-threatened Charlton head to Hillsborough this weekend.

But the Addicks caused an upset over the weekend by defeating automatic promotion contenders Middlesbrough and Loovens continued:

“It’s vital that we keep picking up points. We’re at a stage in the season where we have to look up and Saturday’s game is a big one in our season."
