Owls back Kick It Out

19 March 2016

Sheffield Wednesday are showing their support to football’s equality and anti-discrimination organisation Kick it Out by dedicating today’s game against Charlton to raise awareness.

For the 22nd year the club will be supporting the organisation and help to promote and raise awareness Owls players will be wearing Kick it Out t-shirts during today’s warm ups.

For over 20 years, Kick It Out has played a vital role in ensuring that everyone, regardless of background is welcomed into the community of football.

The organisation have launched a new app which allows users to confidentially report incidents they may see, hear or witness at a match and gives people the chance to report incidents of football-related hate crime on social media platforms at the same time as remaining confidential.

Rishi Jain, Football League Clubs Development Officer at Kick It Out said: “It’s great that Sheffield Wednesday are continuing their support for our organisation by dedicating the fixture against Charlton to Kick It Out.

“It’s important that professional clubs continue to spread the message of equality and inclusion within football, so to see our work being promoted in the programme alongside the players wearing our t-shirts before the match is fan
tastic.”
