Owls buoyed and ready to go again

18 March 2016

Having made a superb return to winning ways last weekend, Tom Lees says everyone in the camp is buoyed and ready to go again.

The Owls had gone five without a win – though took in good points on the road against automatic promotion-chasers Hull and Brighton – but picked up three crucial points at The City Ground last time out.

Assessing the recent results and performances, the dependable stopper says nothing ever changed in the camp but the emphatic win last Saturday has served as a timely confidence-booster.

He explained: “You look at our recent run and if you call it a blip, then it’s just a minor one really.

“I thought we went to Brighton, stood up and showed we had some bottle to go there, pick up a point and keep a clean sheet.

“On Saturday we kicked on and I think we were dominant from start to finish.

“To get a good few goals again for the boys up front and out wide was brilliant for the confidence.

“But for us nothing really changed, we had a couple of really difficult games and felt we should have got at least a draw from the Preston game.

“It made the Brighton and Forest games even bigger than they already were. Hull away, again the same as Brighton, was a good result.

“We were obviously disappointed with the Rotherham game but we’ve had a good result away at Brighton and a fantastic win at Forest and now we look forward.”
