Sheffield Wednesday fans to join #Signforlife

8 March 2016

Sheffield Wednesday are supporting the NHS Blood and Transplant organisation and encouraging Owls fans to sign up to the NHS organ donor register to help save more lives.

The Owls are joining the #signforlife campaign and other sports teams across the country to help raise awareness of the organ donor register and by doing so are hoping more people will sign up.

There are currently around 6,500 people on the waiting list in the UK because of a shortage of organ donors and the organisation are working to change this and help more people.

Owls fan Glen Taylor recently received life changing kidney and pancreas transplants and is encouraging fans to sign up and help save and improve the lives of people like him in the future.

A single organ donor can transform the lives of up to nine people. So the more people signed up to the register, more lives could be saved.
