The Owls’ Under-18s emerged triumphant from a five-goal thriller at Charlton on Saturday.
It was a determined and spirited display overall from Wednesday, who started the game on the back foot as the Addicks dominated the early possession.
The visitors worked well on the counter, though, with Mason Duffy and George Hirst going close.
The second half saw the pendulum ultimately swing in the Owls’ favour but it was Charlton that took the lead.
Wednesday then made three substitutions and the changes paid dividends as SWFC upped the ante.
Hirst levelled after going one on one with the goalkeeper before Fraser Preston gave the Owls the advantage.
Preston promptly doubled his tally to put Wednesday 3-1 ahead and although Charlton pulled one back five minutes from time, it was too little too late to prevent defeat.
