We never lose our confidence

10 March 2016

Wednesday may be without a win in the last five games but Carlos Carvalhal insists at no point has confidence ever dipped in the camp.

The Owls bounced back from defeat against Rotherham with a good point on the road against the usually prolific Brighton at The Amex.

Moving forward, a trip to Nottingham Forest awaits this weekend and the head coach says his side will approach this game in the usual manner that has served them well throughout the campaign.

“All the teams have periods not so good in the competition,” he said.

“We had one or another accident but that is normal in the competition. We know why we haven’t achieved the points in the last four games.

“It’s not because we changed something or we played different or because the players didn’t run or have good attitude.

“We know what happened and because we know what happened, we have confidence.

“We never lose our confidence or change the way we deal with the players, we don’t change the way we play so this means that not everything is perfect but we believe in our players and process and we are in a good way.”

Maintaining their place in the top six after Tuesday’s round of fixtures, Carlos continued:

“In the first seven games, we didn’t win too many points we know that.

“The team was not full, players came late but I must tell you that after that period, we did fantastic.

“Not good, fantastic.”
