We’ve got a job to do

22 March 2016

As we approach the home straight, Sam Hutchinson has reflected positively on the Owls’ season to date.

The 2015/16 campaign has seen Wednesday kick on impressively from last season and Hutchinson believes that is testament to the hard work of the head coach, staff and quality of the players.

With eight games to go, the Owls remain in the driving seat to secure a play-off spot but there is plenty of work to do before those coveted top six positions are finalised.

Hutchinson said: “We’re in a good place and position as a squad and as a team. The whole team has done fantastic this year.

“From where we were last season and how many people we have recruited, it can be difficult when you bring in a lot of players and it doesn’t always work.

“The gaffer has found a formula that does work and I think everyone would have taken this so far.

“We’ve had a great season but we’ve still got a job to do and nothing has been achieved yet.”

The ex-Chelsea midfield man is revelling in the battle at the top of division and is looking forward to the fight in the coming weeks.

“I’m used to the business end of the season when there is something to fight for and something to go and play for,” he said.

“That is normal business for me so hopefully we can go on and do it.”
